Davids exceptional knowledge, response time to any questions and dedication to me created a very smooth experience purchasing my first home. His transparency in the process helped me understand every step along the way I will absolutely give him a call when I am ready to sell my home!

As a first-time home buyer, I was extremely satisfied with the service David provided. He did everything in his power to facilitate the home buying process and fiercely negotiated to get a fair price. His availability and immense neighborhood knowledge made it incredibly easy to find the perfect home.

David was incredibly thorough and patient. He realized we were looking for something specific that we couldn't describe easily with words. He helped to show us listings we requested to see while simultaneously scheduling viewings for places he knew we'd like. After a few tries and many months of waiting we finally landed the perfect place with his help. His coaching through the process of short sale home buying was invaluable, and I'd recommend his services to anyone.

David helped me find my 3 flat in Pilsen. His strengths are his responsiveness, reliability, attention to detail, and speed. For example, once he determined what I was looking for, he quickly sent me listings meeting my qualifications and got me in to see them pronto. I I wanted to make an offer, there was no wait time. He submitted promptly and followed up. Throughout the process to close, he made sure everything moved quickly. I have purchased 5 properties and David was the best realtor of all!

David was amazing to work with! He checks all the boxes of what you want in a good agent; knowledgeable about the neighborhood, knows how to negotiate with a seller, answers all questions related to the buying process and more. He exceeded my expectations by helping us find a good inspector, answering questions not related to the buying process given we were first time home buyers, offered to help find a tenant for our old apartment, and was extremely responsive even on the weekends and late evening. He even brought us a housewarming gift to the closing! I'd recommend him to anyone in the market to buy or sell a home. Truly a good person and has your best interest at heart.

To sum up David in one word is would be that he just ROCKS! David listens to the sellers needs, works with the seller to come up with a solution that will sell your property - or in this case my property. He is constantly giving back feedback and and comments on what we can do to sell it quicker. My experiences with David have been great I would highly recommend him!

From the beginning David knows what he is doing. I ran a pretty tight time line. We saw properties, we made appropriate offers, we bought at a value price. David directed me to quality lenders. Everything was in order each step of the way. Then David paid for unit repairs out of his pocket that the seller refused to fix in order to get the deal done. Exceptionally responsive, knowledge of next steps, and more importantly, "here is what we should expect." From first time viewing properties to closing was 60 days for me. When the seller was unable to complete electric work per our agreement, David secured a credit for us and arranged for all the electric work himself (finding the electrician and meeting with him at the condo prior to move in, etc), all without hassle to us. He is a very nice person, not pushy at all, and very knowledgeable about the market. It seemed important to him that we were happy with our purchase. Overall, he made the process so easy and seamless and was an absolute pleasure to work with! We will definitely be using him again and would recommend him to anyone!

I highly recommend David. An excellent person to work with, and a great negotiator. Arranged contractors on site to estimate update/renovation costs during review/negotiation period.

My husband and I just closed on our first Chicago property this week and we had the privilege of working with David as our broker. This was not our first time purchasing real estate, but this experience was by far the most enjoyable and I would credit much of that to working alongside David. David was a consummate professional throughout the entire process in his clear communication, knowledge and prompt responsiveness. David was absolutely a pleasure to work with. His professionalism and integrity (On Time, Responsive!!!, providing resources for our remodel) are the reasons why we would recommend and use him again. There was never a time where we didn't feel we were his only client. Having bought a home before we laid out what we were looking for and he listened. Of course there are compromises but he would discuss those prior to investing time in visiting the home and they were all very responsible compromises NOT unrealistic. Working with Dave was a absolute pleasure! My wife and I had minimal time, 60 days, to find, bid, appraise, and close - Dave made sure it got done! His continuous communication and availability were beyond impressive - they were inspiring! When looking at homes he took our comments, likes & dislikes, and adjusted seamlessly to the search areas and criteria to find us exactly what we were looking for. I've always heard that buying a home is one of the most stressful times in life but Dave made it so smooth that my wife and I were starting to think that something was wrong with us. There wasn't - we were just lucky enough to find a rockstar of an agent. I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed working with David. He's a man of integrity who knows the Chicago market, listened carefully to what I was (and was not) looking for, and proved to be an amazing negotiator. More than anything, however, David took the time throughout the process to teach me what to look for and flag potential pitfalls that I may not have recognized on my own. As a first time home buyer, it was immensely comforting to know that David was looking out for me and my best interests, rather than just trying to close a deal. I highly recommend him.

David is the best! He reached out after I inquired about a property on Zillow and after working with my crazy schedule, we were looking at properties within the next week. I was coming into the situation with lots of questions as I am a first time home owner, and David was very knowledgable about the entire process - even areas that I didn't expect him to help me with. David did an outstanding job for me! First of all, I met David due to his good old fashion work effort. He cold-called property owners on my street! Does anybody do that anymore in these times of instant gratification? As it turned out his timing was perfect and it led to the sale of my home on one of the most beautiful streets in Bucktown! He brought me a buyer almost immediately. His communication was excellent! His follow through was perfect. When the deal looked like it was in trouble and might fall apart David's creativity, salesmanship, charm and tenacity pulled it through! I give David my highest recommendation! He did a great job for me and I know he will do the same for you!!!

I'm not sure how David landed in our laps for the sale of our condo, but I am so relieved he did! We had to short-sale our condo due to a job loss. David was instrumental in pulling off a successful, though looooong, sale. He worked tirelessly with the bank and the buyer to make sure we got the best deal we could. Not only was he great at his job, but he truly is one of the "good guys," actually CARING about his clients. He recognized our unfortunate circumstance and was so very generous in working on our case, even offering to sacrifice some of his commission, to ensure we weren't squeezed to badly at the end of the deal. I will HIGHLY recommend him to anyone needing real estate services

David recently helped us purchase a home after showing us several properties. As first time homebuyers, he walked us through the entire process and patiently answered all of our questions, even well after closing. He gave us very candid advice during viewings and never pushed us to make an offer. David Schatz and the MVP team at Compass are awesome! (Melanie Giglio-Vakos helped me to initially buy my condo ten years ago. She was patient and enthusiastic despite my slow 9-month search. But her knowledge and understanding of the market paid off, and I wound up with a beautiful condo in Uptown.) Fast forward 10 years to 2018 when I was ready to sell. David Schatz was my main point of contact during the sale, and I couldn't ask for better, especially with me being out-of-state. David's understanding of the current market and trends helped me to price it right (testing market interest at a higher hoped-for price and then adjusting it as needed). He also coordinated staging and helped me find a great lawyer as well as hosting open houses and showings. I ended up with two bidders and an offer for more than the initial asking price, and David was there at every step of the process in helping me to negotiate with both buyers (after the first buyer backed out due to a family matter) and walked me through the inspection, attorney review, and closing process. He listened carefully to what I wanted while providing important insight and expertise to help me make the best decisions throughout the process. He was very responsive, via text or phone, calm and good-natured, answered all of my questions thoroughly and patiently. David kept me sane and guided me smoothly through an unfamiliar process to sell my place at an excellent price. I am very pleased with the end results and highly recommend him!

Long story short, we shopped around for agents and I could not suggest anyone more than David. He knows the city, trends, contractors, and developments like any top notch agent, but what separates David is his desire to really understand what you want and finds a way to get it done.

As a first time home buyer I couldn't have been more lucky working with David. I was unaware of all the things to consider when buying a home and literally could not have done it without him. He was extremely helpful, and always available for questions whether that be via email text or phone calls and his incredible knowledge regarding the process of buying home made the, at times nerve-wracking experience, enjoyable! Responsiveness and professionalism is the bare minimum when considering an agent. David will be a trusted partner, he helps you think through the pros and cons of the properties you will see and asks the insightful questions that get you thinking beyond prices/square feet and into what your life will be like in your new place. He is an advocate and offers expert advice when negotiating. He is well connected and found a lender for us offering a 9k closing credit. Do yourself a favor and call David.

We cannot recommend David more highly. As first-time homebuyers, we were newbies to everything about buying a house and we would have been a bit lost without him. David was great in helping us learn about the market, the process, what to look for and what to look out for. He had a keen eye and helped us identify and avoid potential issues such as water in the basement, foundation issues, etc. For the house we eventually bought, he even noticed we did not have a key to the backdoor and bought a new lock for the seller to change out before we closed. He was very patient with all of our questions, and always responsive throughout the entire process. He never rushed or pressured us. David was also just a very friendly and warm guy and we enjoyed chatting with him and getting to know him during our house tours. He went above and beyond several times. For instance, David had to regularly speak directly with the seller about our asks during negotiations, instead of their realtor (typically we would be dealing with the seller’s realtor and not them directly) and he always had a good attitude about it despite the unusual circumstances. Finally, David also made great recommendations for other vendors we needed like inspectors, attorneys, etc. Overall he’s a fantastic partner during the home buying process and we recommend him very highly!

David is an excellent realtor. Not only is he personable, he is also quite knowledgeable and he expertly guided my wife and I through the process of purchasing our first home. Admittedly, we were novices to the home buying process but with David's sage advice and guidance we were able to secure a wonderful home while remaining within our budget.
