About Michael

Mike Hobin has been working with real estate since 1986, when he and his wife Nancy Butzen—also a Dream Town realtor—began renovating and selling single-family homes in Chicago. Their experiences working with realtors in that business inspired them both to work towards getting their own brokerage licenses as well, and since 1991 they have worked to advise their clients with honesty, integrity, and a personable approach. Their decades of experience have helped them learn a great deal about the process of buying and improving homes, and they are always ready to share their expertise on cost, quality, and feasibility when it comes to their clients’ goals. Today, Mike specializes in working with investors, rehabbers, and first time buyers to buy and sell single-family homes, condos and 2-4 flats in Chicago and the North suburbs.

Mike was raised in upstate New York, but he and Nancy have lived in Chicago’s vibrant Rogers Park neighborhood for 30 years. He appreciates the neighborhood’s great housing stock, proximity to the lake, and diverse population. Outside of his real estate business, Mike enjoys composing his own music for guitar and piano, seeing as many as 40 movies per year, traveling, and visiting the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright.
