After renting for several years in the area, just about a year ago I felt the time was right for me to buy a condominium in Chicago's Old Town. As a first time buyer, I knew I was going to need help and Paul Hettler was with me every step of the way. He prepared me for the "payment shock" of not only paying a mortgage but also real estate taxes, monthly condo association fees and maintenance renters don't normally pay. After he showed me the tax advantage though, of owning vs. renting I saw that it was not nearly as shocking as it first appeared. With his extensive mortgage background, he helped me work out a budget I could feel comfortable with each month, then a property price range within my means. Paul was also instrumental in finding the right mortgage for me, and recommending a real estate team that would assist me through the whole process. His knowledge of the market, expertise and patience throughout the entire process made what could have been a nerve-wracking experience into an exciting and enjoyable time, as well as giving me confidence I made the right decisions. I wanted to take a minute to thank you for the very professional assistance you gave to me in selling my 88 West Schiller condominium. I was a bit apprehensive about the process, with me living in Cleveland, Ohio, while trying to work through a sales process in Chicago, Illinois. It really helped, receiving the e-mail updates of every step of your sales process. I never had to guess how things were going, through your communications; I always knew how the process was moving forward. The e-mails you sent with details of sales of comparable properties in the area and new listings really helped me understand what the market was doing, in that area of Chicago. Then the telephone calls to give me on going details of the results of each step you took eliminated any guess work for me. In particular your coaching and discussions on pricing were very valuable. I particularly liked the facts that on a couple of occasions you expressed that I should not accept offers that you felt were too low. In the end, this resulted in me receiving a much better selling price, than I might have, had I followed my own impulses. I was really a bit distressed when in the final inspection several problems were discovered, electrical, plumbing and mechanical. Super Paul Hettler, swings into action with an electrician, plumber and people from a hardware store and everything was handled in just a few days. The final hurtle for me was the closing. I had no ideas on an attorney and thought I would probably have to fly to Chicago for the closing. You not only had an attorney contact me, she was delightful! She was extremely professional. She e-mailed me her entire fee schedule, which even as compared to Cleveland rates, were quite reasonable. Then to top it off she gave me a fee discount, because you referred me to her! A nice touch Paul and I did not have to attend the closing. The whole process left me with a good feeling. Please feel free to use me as a reference. You can be assured that I will convey to all of my friends in the Chicago area and anyone I know moving to the Chicago area, what an excellent job you did for me. All my thanks again.

I would like to thank you for assisting my family in finding our dream home.
