Erika Chaumontet

A Chicago area native, Erika came to Dream Town from the hospitality industry, where she gained 15 years of valuable experience in working with people and delivering top notch service.  When she realized that she was spending more than half of her free time going to open houses, scanning listings and doing "drive-bys," she realized she longed for a career in real estate!

Erika prides herself on her ability to get to know her clients and understand their needs intimately.  She is dedicated to providing the best customer service possible and is tireless in her efforts to help her clients acquire the properties of their dreams.

Erika graduated from DePaul University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Italian.  She loves music and dancing, as well as biking through Chicago’s diverse and exciting neighborhoods.

  Not only was Erika personable and knowledgeable about the whole condo buying process, it was very evident that she truly wanted to find the RIGHT property for me, one that was a good fit and I would be happy in. We looked East, West, North, South, High and Low ... just because I wanted to be sure I was in a neighborhood and place that I wanted. The bedrooms in my price point were too small in Wicker Park. In the south loop I could only afford a one bedroom when a two bedroom was what I wanted. She was patient and was eager to go out again and again, showing me place after place.   Erika was incredible. We couldn't have asked for a better agent to represent us in our purchase. She truly looked out for interests, even when we didn't know it! We had an exceptionally difficult seller who almost scared us off from the purchase. Being first time homebuyers, we overreacted to our difficult seller, and almost walked out of the deal. Erika, however, knew a good deal when she saw it, and encouraged us to stay in, while also supporting us if we decided to pull out. Although she knew it was good for us to stay in the deal, she never pressured us. The day we took possession of the place, we realized how much we loved the place, and how big of a mistake it would have been to pull out.   I am a first-time buyer and Erika helped make this process very easy for me. She thoroughly explained all of the processes to me so nothing came as a surprise. She even met with my electrician for me when I was unable to make the meeting. I had a difficult commute to the property I was buying and Erika took the time to pick me up and drop me off at the train station.   I can't tell you how grateful I am to have found Erika as my agent. I was a first time home buyer and she was very patient and informative with me from the beginning and throughout the whole process. I really appreciated the personal touches she added to everything - the availability and flexibility of her schedule at all hours of the day, listening to my neurotic reasoning when I was not sure if I did or did not like a place, and adding her well informed opinion when I just was not sure what to do. To add to that, I had an extremely difficult transaction where Erika had to act as the go between on many things where she should not have had to have been involved. At one point, my lawyer even commented to me that I was lucky to have a real estate agent with such substantive knowledge. She went above and beyond her duty to help me and my lawyer close this deal and I will forever be grateful to her for helping me buy my first place!   I purchased a condo in Lakeview in March of 2008 and I have to say I would not have been able to go through this experience as a first time home buyer without my real estate agent Erika.
