In late April 2009, we began the search for our new home in Chicago. Flying blind, we drove into the city and grabbed some local real estate magazines. We came across a Dream Town Realty ad and gave them a call. You were the first realtor we spoke to and you made time to see us that very afternoon. To be honest, we were terrified. While we had bought a home before, this was the first time buying in a major metropolitan area. We really didn't know what to expect or what to look for. Determined not to use the first agent we spoke to, we gave you a "test run" and looked at the properties you sent us. Where do I begin? Indeed, how does one go about the task of tabulating the myriad ways in which James has facilitated the entire process of purchasing a new home. As first time homebuyers, we had heard horror stories from our friends & relatives about the veritable laundry list of things that could potentially go wrong. With James in our corner, we barely had a single hitch. Throughout it all, from traipsing around the city looking at properties (even on Sundays!), to negotiating with the seller in order to ensure we got the most for our money, to the final stroke of the pen on Closing Day, James was there for us. Zora and I recently worked with Jennifer South in selling Zora's condo and purchasing a new one about four blocks away in the Gold Coast area.
Zora's an attorney and a tough customer to satisfy in general. Both of us were very impressed with Jennifer's ability to quickly establish her credibility and competence. Recently, my wife Madeline and I decided to become "in towners" and purchase a condo in the loop area. In early 2007 I put my condo up for sale in the Lakeview area of Chicago. I used Mark Miles and Bonnie Kirincic-Reyburn as my realtors. My experience with them and with Dreamtown was a success. My condo was under contract in 16 days and the closing happened about 2 months after the initial listing. I felt comfortable dealing with Mark as he really listened to me with regard to how I wanted to price the condo. He added his expert opinions and together we came up with a price that worked. Additionally, Mark and Bonnie went above and beyond to make this real estate transaction smooth and easy for me. For example, the new buyer asked to have the floors sanded before closing. Mark and Bonnie not only had a "floor guy" to recommend, but they also contacted him for me, priced it out and also opened my condo for him to do the work. I did not have to be involved at all and the job was done within days. Also, any correspondence that was needed, they came to my office to pick up and drop off. I work long hours and do not have a lot of extra time during the day for these types of things. With Mark and Bonnie at the helm, I felt well taken care of, and they were ready to solve any issue or snag as soon as it came up. Finally, the communication level with Mark and Bonnie was great. Bonnie was in contact with me multiple times during the negotiations phase and made me feel well informed and reassured. I would recommend Mark and Bonnie, as they exceeded my expectations with their level of service.

If you are looking for someone who will listen to what you want then Karen is the realtor for you. We relocated from VA and didn't know anything about the Chicago neighborhoods - we only knew we wanted to be in the city and have access to public transport. Once we found a place and decided to put in an offer, Violet once again stepped in to help us decide on a starting offer and work through the negotiations. True to her word, she was extremely aggressive on our behalf during the price negotiations, which resulted in us getting to a final purchase price for the property that we certainly did not expect and were extremely happy with. After the contract was signed, Violet continued to keep us all on track, reminding us of deadlines and recommending the other professionals (real estate attorney, mortgage brokers, property inspectors, etc. ) that we would need to find to complete the purchase. Without exception, every person Violet recommended turned out to be top of their industry and consummate professionals; we could not have been more pleased with the service and level of expertise that her recommendations provided us. As out of town buyers we really appreciated the time you took to familiarize us with the city. After the time we spent together at the beginning of this process we felt like we had a good understanding of the different neighborhoods. It is hard to put a value on just how important the time you took with us at the beginning was but we felt that you went above and beyond.
In the past we have been inundated with homes to view by our realtors. It was therefore a very refreshing change to be provided exclusively with properties that met our requirements. With young children the prospect of traveling around a city all day looking at properties is not all that appealing.
