Chicago night clubs are scattered about the city in different neighborhoods, with a few legendary hotspots right in downtown. Many of these places don't really get started until after 11 pm or midnight when lines start to form outside their doors and the dance floors come to life with groups of eager party-goers, ready to dance the night away. Although some establishments still resort to piped-in music, most of Chicago's night clubs boast live DJs who make an art out of selecting tunes and seamlessly blending one song into the next. With no break in the flow, the crowd just keeps on moving-only stopping to get a drink from the bar or answer a cell phone call in the bathroom (cause there's no way you can hear what they're saying otherwise).
While Chicago clubs are dominated by younger patrons, the clientele consists of a range of fun-loving night owls. On any given weekend you'll see a good cross-section of the city's active population who can't seem to get enough of Chicago's nonstop nightlife. But be sure to pay attention to the dress code before trying to get by the bouncer because most of the time a T-shirt and jeans just won't cut it.
